C.D. Moody Construction Company, Inc. strongly believes one of the pillars in a successful company is community involvement. The C.D. Moody Foundation was created with the sole purpose of creating opportunities for individuals with a passion for construction through financial assistance towards higher education. Over the years, we have awarded several scholarships to college-bound students within the construction field and donated to various charities throughout the southeast. CDM believes in the importance of giving back to the community, not only through monetary donations, but through volunteering one’s time and staying actively involved throughout the community. CDM is a proud and active member of the Junior Achievement (JA) program—A programmed “designed to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy.” Several dedicated CDM Employees participate in JA day—A program in which volunteers teach various topics centered on entrepreneurship at local middle schools.
CDM has also adopted two local elementary schools: Shadow Rock Elementary School and Stoneview Elementary School. Our role within these schools is not only to teach the importance of education, but to instill in youths the endless possibilities that are directly associated with hard work, perseverance, and a positive attitude. We often host educational challenges, awarding winning classes with various prizes including parties and gift certificates and offering top prizes for individuals exceeding expectations.
CDM has a hand in various national and local organizations, having recently teamed up with the Boy Scouts of America, where we directly assist with fundraising efforts. We are participants with the Atlanta Business League’s Student Business Shadow Project (SBSP), a “program designed to bring youth, especially inner city youth, in contact with a variety of minority business owners and their employees.” Our affiliations with these programs allow us the opportunity to do our part in bettering our community through time, dedication and active involvement.
