Services Provided: Historical Restoration

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Project Description:

When buildings withstand the gift of time, they develop a dignity that inspires the soul, to become a symbol of Atlanta.  Time and moisture and the byproducts of coal, steam-powered trains and vehicle exhaust had worn away the granite walls, iron cornices and molding to the wood support framing of this landmark.  The scope of the restoration was to clean and repaint all masonry; the existing cornices and molding was removed and molds made so exact replacements could be cast.  All deteriorated wood framing, new steps, handrails, and security grilles were replaced and the steeple was   restored.  All of the renovation were intended to return Big Bethel to its original grandeur.
