Project Description:

This project is scheduled to begin in March 2008 and completed in June 2009.  The project consists of the construction of a 75,000 square foot  State of the Arts performance and music academic center facility with  music department program areas designed for the intent of providing a quality and inspirational learning experience for the students.  A partial list of the particular spatial areas are as follows:

  • Music Instructional Units
  • Faculty and Administration Areas
  • Choral Rehearsal Hall
  • Instrumental Rehearsal Hall
  • Performance Hall Auditorium
  • Pre-Function Area
  • Computer Lab Media Center
  • Recording Studios
  • Student and Faculty Lounge Areas
  • Back of House Function Related Areas
  • Front of House Function Related Music Rehearsal Areas
  • Storage Rehearsal Areas
  • Music Production Areas
  • Marching Band Uniform Storage
  • Marching Band Flags, Ladders, Carts, Etc.  Storage
  • Choral Robes Storage
  • Student Instrument Locker Room
  • Parking/Traffic Flow Areas
  • Outdoor Instructional & Performance Areas (i.e., Amphitheater) Areas
  • Outdoor Assembly Areas (plazas, courts, covered concourses, and walkways)

The Music facility will achieve an atmosphere of excellence and value upon arrival at the venue.  The same experience should be shared by daily users and guest patrons.

The exterior envelope of the Arts Center will be a combination of modular masonry brick and cast stone.  The multi-level plans are distinct in their geometry by clearly distinguishing the major elements of the facility into two separate wings. Acoustics for the Arts Center will be of the highest function guided by budget.   The specially designed plaza area with planters and brick paver inlaid accents continue the plaza design established at the nearby Leadership Center facility grounds.
